User Avatar
First of all...you people need to do your homework.....Al Pacino does not have a son old enough to be in jail let alone going into the acting industry....He has 3 children.....Julie, 21 and Twins, 9 (Anton and Olivia). Now....you want to answer this again? How do I know? I'm a friend of the family....enough said. He was arrested and tortured for not living up to fans' hopes he would be as good an actor as his dad.

Why did Al Pacino remain inactive for four years after doing Revolution in 1985 and coming back for Sea of Love 1989?

User Avatar
One of my favorite Actors. Besides the Godfather, I think he did his best work in Dog Day Afternoon, and my favorite "Scent of a Woman." Filming "Revolution" in 1985 was the toughest shoot in Pacino's long list of credits; horrible weather conditions and numerous financial difficulties challenged the production, and Pacino was also diagnosed with a serious bout of pneumonia. He was also in a depressed state of mind, since his relationship with Marthe Keller had come to an end. It didn't help matters when the film was released: It was labelled one of the worst movies to come out of the 1980's and declared an embarassment for all who were involved with it. Though he was still getting numerous offers from studios, Pacino fell into depression from the bad reviews of his previous film and went on a 4 year hiatus from movies. He starred in a few plays, but generally stayed out of the limelight. He had brief flings with actresses Carol Kane (his co-star from "Dog Day Afternoon" (she played the teller in the bank) and actor Kathleen Quinlan. He later came back and made several other films nothing short of the huge productions that the Godfather trilogy and Scarface brought on later becoming cult classics for generations that grew up in the 70s and 80s, but he had a long term relationship with actress Beverly D'Angelo(Ellen Griswoldt from the National Lampoon Vacation movies) who he has twin children by which ended pretty nasty a few years ago. Cuz he felt like it.Duh.

Does Al Pacino have Albanian heritage?

User Avatar
Alfonso Pacino is Albanian. His family is originally from Kruja, a city in Central Albania. Hundreds of thousands of Albanians left Albania from 1571 - 1912, escaping occupation from the Ottoman Empire. These were largely Albanian Catholics. An approximate figure of those Albanians that left Albania for Italy it thought to be 1.2 million. Pacino's surname in Albania is Pacini. The full name in Albanian is Alfons Pacini. The Italian government moved to nationalise the ethnic Albanians living in Southern Italy in the regions of Calabria, Puglia, Alexandia, Sicily and Naples from 1621-1913. Therefore, the names of Albanian community living in Southern Italy were changed in order to unite Italy as one. Many family names were added leters such as "O" or even changed althogether to fit Italian national identity scheme. Records in Albania show that in 23 October 1801, 203 Albanians from the region of Pac, Kruje left Albania from the Port of Durres to travel to Southern Italy. Other famous actors with Albanian origin include Roberto De Nero (Albanian surename Niro), Joe Pesci (Albanian surname Peshki) and many others.

Is Robert De Niro or Al Pacino a better actor?

User Avatar
From the beginning these two actors have long been compared both from their fans and film critics alike. Even now we can find many forums all over the internet comparing them, voting for them, on youtube we can find videos comparing them. And none of them have ever come down to any concrete conclusion about who is better than other. Therefore, I would personally say it would all come down to an individual opinion.
